I was walking and saw a homeless man sitting on the road side. No one wanted to even look at him or touch him. It looked like his clothes were not washed for days or months or years and he himself also hadn’t had any bath in many days. Some were giving money which he was occasionally looking at. Suddenly one car rammed over a street dog and he was screaming in pain. people continued walking. This man woke up immediately and got that dog. He took that dog to the near dispensary and got it medically attended. I have high regards for the doctors. Things we do not want to touch or look at, they deal with all the blood and wounds. A big thank you to them. Next day, when I was crossing that road, I saw same old man, again sitting like this. But this time, that dog was playing near by. So I asked him, how was he feeling. We ended up talking a lot and in the end he said that, everyone looks at what’s outside me and I look at what’s inside me and everyone else. So what’s inside you? HE smiled and said God. Same God, who is inside you and same God, who is inside me and this dog. I was speechless. One homeless man taught me the lesson for life.
We judge people on the basis of what they are wearing, address of their house, office they are working but we forget to look at what’s inside them. It’s like judging an apple tree not for an apple but for it’s looks and beauty and where it is grown and everything else. Still the core is, it is an apple tree. It’s first purpose is to give apple. If it is very big, looks very beautiful but has no apples, then what’s it’s use. Similarly, we are love, our core is love because God is pure love and our first purpose must be love.
Can we not forget who we are? Which is more important than anything else.
