I have chosen to be happy. I think of nice times, I talk about nice people and things. I talk about what good is there in life. Life is beautiful and I have to realize it.

I woke up one day and I got a call from someone who was having a fight with his family members over some money issues. After that phone call I started feeling very sad as it brought back the memories where I had faced fights and issues. Whole day had gone bad as I was thinking again and again of similar things. I could not cheer up myself and I could not talk to anyone properly. Gladly that day was over. On another day I woke up and I saw a beautiful new bud in my Thai bamboo which I had thought had died and I was super excited. Whole day I kept thinking of nice things and I was very happy. These two small incidences made me wonder that how we are choosing our happiness in everyday life. So I started observing more. 
Here are the few things:
1. We like to think of bad incidences more and we like to feel we have not been treated fairly (Somewhere we like to be victimized)
2. We like to talk about what bad has happened and what bad others have done.
3. We have more complaints than gratitude
4. We watch bad news all day on TV (Very rarely we would see something good)
5. Others also sit and like to talk about bad things and bad people instead of what good has happened to them and what good others have done for them
6. In our mind we repeat negative incidences again and again making them permanent
7. We create negative images of future too in our mind
If we are fed with so much of negativity inside outside all day, how would our mind stay positive? 
If we focus so much on negativity, bad things, problems, bad people, that only would expand in our lives. 
So what shall be done?
1. Take time out to maintain your gratitude journal 
2. Think of nice happy events of life and repeat them in mind more. Express your gratitude for that
3. Think of nice and happy things happening around you
4. Create happy images of future so that it is driven by happiness rather than fear
5. Talk about nice people and nice things. Make an effort!
6. Use positive words more like love, smile, joy, peace etc
7. learn to see positive things in people
8. learn to appreciate what is good in others
9. Express your gratitude for life and people who have contributed
10. Help others in same
Happiness is an inside job and it is our decision. if we are unhappy, we have to see how we are living our lives. We can actually choose to be happy despite of everything around. We also need to understand whatever we are doing is to be happy, to have that feeling of happiness, so lets choose it right way.
