Don’t suppress your emotions, understand them and solve them and let them go.

One lady was very controlling of her husband. She would count his every minute. Would control, how he keeps his clothes and if they were not as per her, she would shout at him. Gradually, she forced him to leave all his friends and parents. He was following her orders and the only relations he was connected was with her family. He did not speak, and he suppressed his anger. Lots of times he felt like crying but he did not. When he was young, he was told that men never cry. He suppressed his emotions always but we all need a vent. So he started talking to someone online and got into an affair and eventually he decided to file for a divorce. His wife got a shock of her life as she never thought something like this could happen. When asked for the reason, it was simple suppression.
A lady got married into joint family and she had to listen to whole family. She never shared any feelings with her husband or anyone. After few years of marriage, she committed suicide and in her letter she had written that no one understands me. I have emotions too. I had to suppress my emotions and put up a smiling face.
There are many stories where suppression comes out in various forms.
Our emotions are most important. We do not realize, whatever we do is directly motivated by how we feel. If we feel good about something we go ahead and do it and if we do not feel good, we need to solve them. So many times, we keep telling ourselves that it is not important but if something has irked our emotions then it is important. We cannot ignore if it’s triggering our emotions. So we need to solve it.
So how do we do it?
First of all, whenever there is an emotion, let it be there. If you are sad, do not judge your emotion. allow yourself to be sad
Allow yourself to accept your emotion that yes I can be sad.
Do not judge your emotions
Now, ask why am I angry? Why am I sad?
Can I experience it otherwise?
Keep asking till you feel relaxed and no longer the burden!
