He was sitting and complaining. I did not receive this and that in life. I asked him what is this and that. So he said, like typically, a good relationship, regular monthly income, kids, etc. So I asked who has it all? He mentioned a few names. So his task was to go and check with them, how’s everything with them and what all they did, to have those things. He spoke to his friends and few answers were like:
- I have slogged like anything for the job I have.
- I have kept so much patience in my relationship, now finally we are settled.
- I failed in so many interviews but then I got one. Since then I never dared to move but this job has served me well. I have done so much here. It also has rewarded me.
- I wake up every day at 4 am and go for my run. I work on my health and then the whole day, I am taking care of my business.
- I try to understand my wife’s emotions rather than listening to everyone, that’s how we have such a great bond.
So what did you understand?
They all have worked very hard for what they have. And I failed to do that.
So what did you do?
I thought my father had a business and it was easy. The money would keep coming. I was told to keep the wife in control but she left me eventually. I drank alcohol, woke up at 10 am, never cared about my health, so eventually, I have health issues. Doctors are giving me warning about my liver, but I am unable to quit.
So what have you been able to give otherwise to life to get rewarded?
He wondered what could we give?
Well, it’s like, helping people in need, forgiving who have hurt us, loving as much as we can, keep the loving thoughts, feel grateful. We need to work on staying happy and positive. Emotionally also we shall be giving along with physical efforts.
Life is the reward of what we have given to life.
