Two brothers were partners in business and with time they made their own houses. They built the same bungalows and everything looked the same. However, few things have to be different regarding the choices of people living inside. Like curtains, covers, linens, etc. The younger brother’s wife, always competed. She would go to the elder one’s house and come back with negativity. She would talk bad and how they are spending money and how she would want to spend more. After some time, they saw a difference. The elder ones had more prosperity. They were giving more, traveling more, wearing better. Both the brothers were withdrawing the same salary from the company. The younger one blamed for siphoning the funds and took over the finances. The elder one could see, it was going in the wrong direction and decided to work upon that. They sat and talked and realized, the younger one’s house had more doctor visits, kids were more sick, there were more repair and maintenances and lots of money was going into unnecessary expenses. The younger one apologized and realized his mistake, but he wondered why his house had more problems than the elder one. When they consulted someone, they realized that in the younger one’s house, everything was bought as a feeling of competition was ego-driven. Lots of things were done because the elder one was doing to because they originally wanted to do. On the other hand, at the elder one’s home, everything was done out of love and happiness. Which created further love and happiness. They also helped everyone who came to their door. Though the money flowing in was the same, but the abundance was at a different level. The difference was between love and ego.
Whatever you do, do it for love. Bhagwad Gita also says that whatever is done for the satisfaction of ego is the lowest category of karma. The lowest category of karma will create the lowest category of results. Whatever is done out of love, will bring the highest results. So follow love.
