How is the credibility built? Why someone is trusted so much and others are not? Why that some are respected so much and some are not? I meet all kinds of people. Sometimes they ask me this also that why they have not earned respect as much as others have done so? For my work, I met a person, he is honest type and is respected a lot amongst his colleagues and the clients. He is a government servant and is at a very senior position. If he asks a client to do something, no one puts down his words. He never even asks for himself, he would ask as a help to others. Great! So how is the credibility built? You need to earn your credibility, its not available in any store. It is earned by the work done by you like in upper case, if you keep your words, would you trust a person who always says something and does not do. You may give him/her few chances but if it happens always, you would know he would never do so. I have a consultant, he would always say, I would call you in few minutes and that call would never come even in weeks. A friend of mine would say, I would do this and that fro his girl friend and when the day comes he chickens out. Ultimately the girl could not trust him and she broke up. Why, because he lost the credibility. Then you built the credibility with your character. Someone said, success is sustained by character. So true, if you do not have a character which people look up to, you cannot stay in that position for very long. It includes everything. How you treat people, if you keep your words, how you respect, how fallible you are to follies etc. So credibility comes from work done, words kept and character.
