I was taking a workshop for class 4th students. Some students were making fun of others. One student was particularly feeling sad because everyone was calling him fat. He was almost crying. One girl was already crying because she was short in height and everyone was calling her with funny names. I started telling them a story. Story is always a good medium to communicate with children and give then some thoughts and get their attention. There was a 7 years old boy named Jhony. He use to make fun of everyone. Someone’s hair was funny, someone’s shoes were funny. He looks so poor! One day Johny met a
magician. The magician was wearing long bright coat and many layers of clothes.
Johny started laughing at the magician. Magician got very angry with Johny and
casted a spell on him. Magician said that now onwards everyone will become
Johny for you. Johny does not believe him and keeps laughing saying how can it
be possible. After that Johny goes to school and suddenly all his class mates
are Johny. Everyone is laughing and acting like Johny. Johny says I am Johny
and all start laughing. The teacher enters into the class and teacher is also
Johny. Johny goes to the teacher and says I am real Johny, the teacher starts
laughing and says I am Johny. Johny could not tolerate all this and runs back
to his mom. When he enters there what he sees is his mother also is Johny. Johny
has no one to address to as mother. Then his father enters home and he is also
Johny. Now johny cannot tolerate any more. He goes back to his room and wants
to watch cartoon. When he turns on TV, his favourite cartoon character also has
turned into Johny. Johny starts crying. He says that every things looks so good
when everyone is different. If everyone is same, then how can live. We cannot
be happy, if everyone is same. He realises his mistake. He made fun of people
because they were different. He goes to sleep crying. Then Johny sees the
magician in his dream again. Johny asks him to forgive. Magician sees the tears
in Johny’s eyes and agrees to remove the spell. Suddenly Johny wakes up from
his dream and realises that this all was a dream. But he had a change of heart
and he had learned his lesson that this world is good because everyone is
different. Next day he goes back to school and now he likes to appreciate
everyone instead of making fun. Your hair look so beautiful! You have beautiful
hand writing. He does not like making fun of anyone now.
We all are different and we all are perfect. We were watching animal planet on TV. There were showing some colourful Lizards from amazon. My sister said that look at the beautiful creation of God. So many colours and so many varieties. And it is such a beautiful fact. Everything in this creation is so beautiful and perfect. We judge everything as per our limited perspective and find faults because we have trained our minds to find faults instead of accepting. In reality, we just need to observe and we would realise everything is perfect and is created in light of God by God. So how can there be any imperfection. Accept yourself the way you are and love yourself the way you are. Love this creation the way it is and you would realise how perfect everyone and everything is. Dont find faults, just love everything.
