Yesterday one 60 year old gentleman called me up as he was upset over his life not working as per his plan for last 10 years. He is an India settled in US. I asked him what about those rest of the 50 years, when everything was going as per his wish. For last 10 years, he asks daily why me…and then I asked him for those 50 years, when you were getting everything, whatever you had asked for, you did not ask why me…then why now..and he understood the point…my intention was not to hurt him or show him down, but to make him realise that how blessed he has been through out his life and now when life has posed little challenges, he is still blessed, challenging times are necessary to remove the dust settled on our potentials and talents as we get complacent..its same like after a rainy day the leaves shine more..everything sparkles after that and same way, life also sparkles after challenging times as you explore yourself and life more. This is one thing, another thing is, whatever we put our focus upon grows stronger in life or vice verse. Let’s simplify this. You focus upon your wife, your relationship becomes stronger and if you dont, the relationship starts falling apart. If you focus on blessings, your relationship with them grows stronger or starts falling apart as we have been taking them for granted and if you focus more on problems, they grow stronger in life. We have a tendency, when we have everything we dont focus and thank that but when we have problems, we focus too much on that and still forget rest of the things we are blessed with. So always see what you are blessed with and what all you can learn from the challenges, what new revelation you have, so that you grow further in life.
