Whatever you are thinking while eating is shaping you up. Be aware of your thoughts.

One gentleman used to get very angry on every small thing. His wife was always scared of him. She shared that their family lives in a constant fear. She also shared that while eating food, he watches news all the time and something would trigger inside him because of that also, and he may then take it out on others. He was a good human being, he wanted best for everyone and the country. He could not tolerate anything wrong. And whenever there was something wrong, he would take it personally and lose his control. I asked her if he also wanted to control his anger, and she said yes. So the first thing he had to do was stop watching news especially while eating.

Few reasons for that:

  1. We drive our energy from the food we have eaten. Bhagwad Gita explains the concept of satvik tamsik and rajsik food. Satvik food creates peace and positive energy. Rest all create anger and other negative things. However, with any kind of food our thought process and intentions matter the most. We need to have satvik thought process first in this life. If we can create that, that will create Satvik environment inside our body and around us. So it is imperative that with every bite we eat, every sip we drink, we need to create that satvik thought process.
  2. When we are watching news, we are creating a negative thought process while eating. Which means we are paving the way for negative emotions and energies. The Devil gets nurtured with the negative thought process inside us and God gets nurtured with the positive thought process inside us. So whenw e are thinking of something negative we are paving a way for the devil inside us.
  3. However, just removing negative does not mean we have paved the pay for the purity inside us. We need to start making a conscious effort regarding that. In olden days we know how people used to bless their food, pray, thank before eating. All these things used to set positive energy in the food. We have stopped all these things saying where does these things matter.
  4. Just me saying this would not help. You try this for few days like blessing, surrendering the food, thanking for the food, asking God to put his energy in the food and then eat and see the difference.
  5. If you want to go one level deeper, start blessing the food with every bite you take. Read something positive in your mind or atleast think of something positive. Or instead of news, play some devotional songs on TV and then eat. Do this experiment for few days and you will see the difference.

Her husband stopped watching TV especially while eating food and started blessing his food with every bite. Within few days, he could feel healthier and much calmer.

We all need to be aware of thought process whole day. We need to have a conscious living. We need to know what we are creating everyday in every moment.
