Yes, people talk.
Yes, it can hurt.
Yes, they judge.
Why do they do that?
They think less, they like to feel superior, it gives them an opportunity to feel better about themselves, they are less sensitive of others emotions and everything else. But deep down what they do not realize is this is who they are.
When I was small, I was watching this famous reality show Indian Idol. At that time, there were not so many shows on so many channels. It was the first of its kind and yes, Sa re Ga ma pa. So I asked my mom, who are these judges. And who get to be the judge? My mother told me that they are the experts in this field. They know all. They have lots of experience. Which makes sense.
So when I see people judging others and giving their expert comments like judging a reality show, it means they know all. The second thing is, this is who they are. Otherwise, how would they know so much about someone else? How would they have expertise about someone else’s life?
So when someone talks about me, I ask a few question from myself:
First it’s the time of self evaluation
- Are my intentions right?
- As per me, Am I doing my best with my best intentions?
- Is it true?
Then next level
- Do they know me?
- Do they know my intentions?
- Would they believe if I explain? (No, because they believe what they want to believe)
Shall I focus on what others are saying and thinking without having complete knowledge about the things or shall I focus on what I am doing? Now, ask again!
- Shall I wait for time to prove to them?
- Shall I wait for time to change their opinion?
- Does it matter who they are?
- Does it matter why they are judging me?
- Can I control?(Never)
So, focus on what you are doing and continue doing. Hold the best intentions for everyone and keep doing. Find your peace in your own right intentions and spend your time and energy in what you have to do next.
Then what about others? Why shall I care what they are thinking? It’s their time, their job, and how they spend, it’s up to them. Time is the most precious thing in this world which people do not realize. Every second is worth millions. So if someone wants to spend their millions on what others are doing it’s their choice. I need to see, how I make the best use of my time.
