Question

Why do we need to have good Karma?

What are good Karmas?

Why some people escape with Bad Karma too?

What if someone else is doing bad to us?

What is the role of the thought process in Karma?

So let’s try to answer them!

When we do something which helps someone and which has a good effect on one or more people’s lives without harming anyone else, it is a good Karma. It also includes doing good for self but again not at the cost of someone else.

What goes around comes around. Simple whatever we are giving is coming back to us. So if we are doing bad to someone, or let’s say, we are cheating someone, we will be cheated. If we are being helpful and compassionate, we would receive the same in the future when we shall need it.

No one can escape Karma. Because whether anyone knows or not, we know it. We are the creator of life. We are the creator of own Universe. So when we do something bad, we create a chain reaction of bad thought processes or events. It may take a longer time or a shorter time for it to reach back, but it would. In what shape and size it would reach back we cannot decide. It depends on lots of factors like how many events it had to pass through, the effect of doing bad things on others, etc.

Buddha said that what others are doing, it’s their Karma and what we are doing is our Karma. So when others are doing bad, they will face their consequences and we are no one to judge that. SO stop judging! When we are doing bad, it is our destiny then. It is no justification that he did so, so I did.

Krishna said in Gita that it cannot happen that you are not doing your Karma. Even if you are thinking, you are doing your Karma. Sometimes we have different actions that look positive and our intentions are different, so the result also will be different. For example, Few people are donating Rs 5000 to an orphanage. One has an intention of getting a name. One has an intention of tax saving. One has an intention to help. So would they all have the same result? Actions are the same! They all would have the different result as per the intentions they had. So our thought process, which actually carries our energy forward from one thing to another will carry different energy in each case. In Hindus, there is a concept called as Mansa Vacha Karma, which means, In your heart, what you speak and what you do, there shall be an alignment and alignment of good Karma to actually have a good effect.

So in reality, we don’t have an option other than being good to have a good life. We need to be honest to the core, we need to bless, we need to pray, we need to have gratitude, we need to work hard, we need to help others, we need to be happy and follow all the good rules if we want to have a good life.
