I was sitting in the room and looking out at the lovely weather. It started raining and I shifted closer to the window to watch it. I saw the raindrops falling like little dew drops on leaves and no words explain the beauty of that moment. Every leaf was looking so perfect. Suddenly what drew my attention was a small bug who was hiding under a leaf to protect himself from the rain. The leaf came out and it was not left with any roof over his head. The little creature looked so uncomfortable and I felt that I was feeling uncomfortable. I tried putting it on a leaf and kept in a dry corner. That moment was a moment of realization that if I could feel its pain then it means we are connected. If I am connected to this insect, it means I am connected to all the creatures of this world. Then I saw the pain in that leaf. That leaf was trying hard to protect this insect and that’s why it came out and fell off. Which means the pain which I was feeling was also felt by the leaf or the tree. Which means even the tree and insect are connected. If they are connected, then I am connected to the tree too. Which means we all are one. Then why do we have this duality? The duality of ego let’s say which tells us someone is big, someone is small, this country, that country etc?
The answer I got was, the duality is in mind. This whole Universe is one body and is one. That’s why we all are taking care of each other and nourishing each other. Earth supports trees and everyone else. Tree’s roots support earth is staying intact. The river supports trees. Trees support us by giving us food and fresh air. We grow them by nurturing them. We all are dependent on each other for survival. Like one body part is dependent on other for survival. We all are one and we need to know this. EGo is there and will always be there but how to see ego separate from us not as self will help us in knowing the truth that there is no difference. If we will keep treating ego as self, then we will never know the truth even if it will be right below the nose. The journey is from ego to love. From duality to oneess.
