Someone called and said that he has planned something against his boss. He had manipulated books so that his boss would get stuck in a scam. And why are you doing that? My boss has lots of attitude, and he keeps throwing that at me. It is to tell him that I can also do things. But what would you get, and he said that peace. Are you sure, you would be peaceful? After lots of discussions, he agreed not to take any harsh steps. He corrected everything. After a few days, his boss resigned, and he got promoted. If he would have manipulated books, it all would have fallen on him. But he came out unscathed and promoted. Let’s say, it was his testing point.
While writing this, it reminds me of an old story. One lady used to keep one bread in her window for a beggar. One day, she thinks that let me add some poison as its like a compulsion now, to make one extra bread for me. While keeping the poisoned bread in the window, she stopped and regretted. She gave him fresh bread. After sometime her son returned after months. She asked him, how was the journey, and he shared that he was walking back and was looted. Had no food and clothes. He was hungry then a beggar looking man gave him fresh bread. He also shared that, that bread reminded him of her. She started crying and wondered if it was the same bread and if she had given a poisoned bread, it would have killed her own son.
Even if someone else is doing wrong thing, keep doing the right thing and eventually everything would be right. Taking a stand is different but doing a wrong thing is different. Like Dalai Lama said, what people do is their karma and what you do is your karma. So keep doing the right thing.
