Met a lady and her servants were very happy. They were going extra mile for her. She prepared tea and she prepared for everyone. She asked her two servants if they would like to have. She gave one cup to the one who asked for it. Then she asked if he would like to eat anything along. HE said yes, he was hungry sp she offered him some snacks too. She told him, if he wants more, he can take it himself. Saying this she came and sat with me to have her tea. She sipped her tea and said since her children were born, she had forgotten what a hot tea looks like. What I wondered was, in whole episode there were no children. Her servants could have served tea, she did not have to spend 5 minutes in the kitchen for them and there were no kids. So was it that in her heart, she was treating her servants as her children?
We all have an opportunity to serve one another everyday. whether it is our boss or customer or servants or family. Let’s serve them with love. Now what do we mean by that?
Oh like, he is my servant, how can I give tea to him, he shall be giving it to me!
Oh, he is a servant or a beggar, he shall not touch me or brush past me! (But yes, we eat food cooked by them, drink tea in the cup brought by them and washed by them)
Another area, where we need to bring in love is, work place. Do not hate your job and serve. Serve with love. This job is running your house and living. Do not have a feeling that you are forced to work! Serve with love.
Then family members. Whatever you do, when ever you do fill yourself up with love and then do it. That’s the secret of bringing in love in the family. That’s the secret to keep family together.
And above all, serve yourself with love. Learn to love yourself, appreciate yourself. Embrace yourself with all your heart and that will open you up for the greater love. That will open you up to love others. Whatever you are having in your heart while serving others, you will receive back same. So only way to receive love is to give love.
