We are trained poorly on both receiving and giving. We are not trained to ask, we are not trained to receive and then we are not trained to give.
If someone says, I helped you there, instead of saying thank you, we feel hurt. We might say thank you but we take a few decisions as I will never ask for anything etc. We are told not to ask as God shall provide himself and take care of us all himself. He does, but what we desire we have to ask. If someone tries to help, we feel obligated and we try to turn that down. When someone tries to give a compliment, we kind of shove it off. But we expect others to accept it gracefully! Is it possible? This is also an ego which is not letting us receive fully! We want everything shall come to us without asking so that we can say either I did not ask for it or I earned it. It hurts to say, someone helped or someone else gave us.
When we give we get an ego! I gave that. I do that. IS it actually giving?
No one is giving, no one is receiving. It is consciousness playing every role in different forms. If we can see that from a bigger perspective, every duality resolves. It’s same consciousness inside everyone. Our ego is separating us from each other and who we really are. WE are one with consciousness or it’s one consciousness who has taken different body forms. Can we realize it? If we can truly see that, then there is no actual giving or receiving.
Then why is gratitude required? Because gratitude comes with love. It opens up all the doors of thinking. Ego is the deal breaker. The ego separates us. We can see this from the eyes of gratitude, not from the spectacles of the ego.
See who you are. Receive with love, give with love. Receive with gratitude and give with gratitude.
