One man reached to an old guru and asked, how can I meet God. How can I find God. The guru asked him to find the pain of everyone he meets in next one year and then come back. The seeker went on and kept asking everyone he met. He realized, everyone was in so much pain. He was feeling bad but as guru had asked only to find that out, he did that. After one year he came back and shared the stories. So the guru asked him to ask, what could be done next time to help anyone he meets. He asked but did not help as Guru had asked. Next time Guru asked him to do whatever he could do to help anyone he meets. This time he started helping and one day he realized, what would be the difference between God and these people. Where does it matter if he finds God or not. He wanted to find God but for what? Would it be of use to anyone else? But if he could turn around one man’s life, he would be of use. This time he did not return. After sometime, the guru only called him and asked why hasn’t he returned. First of all, he thanked his guru for showing him direction in life and then said he no longer felt that need to find God. He shared his experiences and insight. Guru hugged him and said that he actually has found real God inside himself. There is no other God then what he was experiencing.
We all have divine side and darker side which comes from ego. When we rise above ego or our darker side, we reach to our divine side and we we actually find God within ourselves. The God, who wants to help, who wants to do his best for others, who cares for others, God who is full of love, God who wants to share love. This is God and this is divine.
Understanding others makes us meet who we are. Makes us one with God.
