One who is guided by him, will always win every battle of life.

There is a famous part of Mahabharata which narrates the importance of choosing God as your guide. Before Duryodhana and Arjuna were going to enter into war, they both went to meet Krishna to seek help. Duryodhana sat towards Krishna’s head and Arjuna sat towards his feet. Krishna asked Arjuna to choose between himself and his whole army. Arjuna chose Krishna to the much relief of Duryodhana. Though Duryodhana had a much bigger army as a whole in Mahabharata but Arjuna and his brother’s won the final battle. Who can defeat the one who is being guided by God himself? Even if it looked like he did not touch any arms or weapons.

Duryodhana and Arjuna represent ego and love. Arjuna sat towards feet and surrendered to God. He did not ask for anything else. He simply asked that God you be with me. I will do whatever you will say. That was his love for Krishna and his faith in him. Duryodhana represents ego as he sat towards head where ego lives. Though he felt that he got everything when Arjuna asked for Krishna instead of the army, still if we look at the bigger picture, he got nothing. If he did not get God, he did not get anything.

So there are few things to be seen here:

Though ego came in first, love came later, still, God was much pleased by the surrender and love rather than ego. So God gave first asking to love rather than ego.
Though ego got everything still it got nothing.
When love was being guided by God himself, it won despite having fewer resources.

If we really want to win the battle of this life, we need to surrender to his feet with love, take his guidance and then ride our chariot. Which definitely does not mean that we do not do our Karma because when Arjuna dropped his weapons saying he could not fight with his own people, Krishna himself guided him on doing his Karma. So Krishna protected him from every perspective, whether it was his own internal enemy as fear and external enemy.

So are we ready to choose him as our guide? Are we ready to surrender to his feet?

Whatever work you do today, ask him to be your guide. Ask to guide you on the path of truth. Ask him to be with you. Ask you to take you to your purpose.
