She asked me, how can I inspire others in life?
It’s a noble thought!
But how can I be at a place, where people talk about me, they appreciate me, they look forward to me and I am a model of inspiration?
We brought two candles. And we lit one of them. Then we turned off all the lights. One was kept in one corner of the room and the other was kept in the other corner of the room. I asked her, where would you go? She said of course towards the one who was burning. We turned on the lights. One candle which was not burnt was intact and looked new. The other one looked half and had burnt itself down.
If we worry too much about, what I am, how do I look, what others are thinking of me, self-image, or let’s say we are too self-focused and what would happen to me if I give light to others, we would be intact and beautiful but there would be no light. And no one would follow us. Because there is no light. But, if we start burning ourselves and burn away all the impurities, we awaken all the love within, we start spreading that love, we start giving instead of thinking this giving is burning me, everyone would follow because this is where the light is.
There is nothing right or wrong here. We need to choose priorities. If we really want to spread light and everyone to follow that light, we need to choose to burn first. If we choose to stay intact, we can.
Burn away all the impurities. Where we can even think bad of others, burn away all the competition, burn away whatever is putting off that light inside you, bring out the love and you will glow and spread your light everywhere.
