I was driving and my friend was sitting next to me. On the red light a beggar knocked at the window and she made a bad face. I asked what happened. She said these beggars you know. Now, I have to give her something. What do you mean by have to give her something. She said see, I feel we shall not give but I feel if I will not give, then I will invite bad Karmas. And how that will happen? She said with some guilt in her voice, see I will feel bad and then when i will need something in future, someone else will say no to me. Then I will suffer. So you want to give out of that fear rather than having an intention to help? She said yes. How would we help someone? And how many we could help like this?
This conversation triggered lots of thoughts. So to answer to her last point, I shared a story. Once sea was bringing lots of star fish along the waves and they were dying on the shore. A little boy started throwing them back one by one. One gentleman who was watching this whole thing said they are so many everyday. How many you could save. So he threw back one more saying, I just saved one more. It does not matter how much we give and how many we are able to help, every contribution matters.
Now, let’s come back to guilt and fear thing. So if we go by law of Karma, things work as per intentions. One person is giving with ego, to have his name and receive big appreciations, he will get that and it’s over. Once who is giving out of fear, actually has not given anything. One who is giving out of love will receive Universal love. Everything comes back with what we have put into it while giving. The kind of energy we are sending out to Universe. Everything is energy, including money. Base of every energy is love. More love we have into giving, bigger is our giving. Absence of love in any giving is absence of giving.
Stop living with fear. This is how we have been trained since childhood. Pray or God will feel bad. God never feels bad. He is very loving very kind. He knows us in and out. There is no shield in front of him. He is very loving, very kind and most loving I will say. So hold no fear and start living with love. Act out of love. Give to help as they are a part of same Universal family, not out of fear of getting back.
