My father was an industrialist. our factory had a well. The well had a special quality. It would echo back. So when we were small, all the children would go to that well, would say different things and hear it back. it was fun!
When I grew up, I realized life is same and it can be fun if we look at it that way. It brings back, what we have said to it. Now, if we really want to hear something different, we need to say things differently.
I was sharing this in a seminar and two gentlemen shared their beautiful stories. One gentleman shared that he grew up in a big business family. And he was a spoiled brat and when his father passed away, it took him no time to finish everything off. He did not know what to do after that. He decided to take up a job, and he started giving interviews. But he did not hear back. he was left with very little money. One day it was his last money, and he had to buy food. Suddenly a beggar came asking for money. The beggar looked hungry. He brought a packet of bread, and they both ate it together. He felt very peaceful and wondered why so. Before that, he realized he had never done anything for anyone. The next day he met someone, who gave him a temp job that paid him for two days of money. He kept doing such things and whenever he was eating he realized someone was there to share, and he did. After one year he found a good business opportunity and his business flourished. Now, no one came asking for food, but he made a point to distribute food every day at least to 100 people. He kept growing in life and he realized if he kept doing good he would be fine in life. He was.
Another gentleman shared that at the age of 80 also people ask him why he was so healthy always, and he feels the simple reason was his positive thought process. he always helped people and he never did any wrong. He had faced challenges, but he always felt that they helped him grow, and he always felt supported in his tough times. Someone always appeared for help when he needed that.
When he was sharing this, another gentleman started crying. He said that he knew why he was suffering and now it was further clear. He once loved a lady who really took care of him and did everything. But he started cheating on her and it had devastated that lady. it took her two years to rise from that but since then his fall never stopped. He was out of work and his health also suffered. At the age of 60, he felt he had no money and no one to come back home to.
So think good, do good and do good for everyone. Eventually you will see, everything is good. Life is an echo of what we are doing and thinking.
