It’s important to take inventory of life from time to time. I sat and thought if I am happy and in general I felt happy. Was there any reason may be and may not be. But I am happy, peaceful and contended. Do I want more things, do I have a purpose and the answer is a definite yes! So I have been feeling very happy over all.
So I was smiling and my friend dropped in. She asked the reason and I said that I have everything which anyone could ask for and I am feeling happy. She stayed back and saw me running around and she asked if whole day I am running like this and yes. I have two toddlers and lots of things to manage. I have to be on my toes always. Still you are happy and what that has to do with being happy?
We sat and discussed and being happy. She was also a happy person in general. In life we all would have challenges. Some days will be tough and some days will be lighter. Some days we will have more support and some days we will have less support. Some days we will be tested and some days we will be taken on the top. But what matters is, our attitude towards life.
Can we accept life as a whole? Generally we like to pick and choose parts of life. WE reject the darker ones and we want to live in the lighter ones. In the memory of darker ones, we also miss out the light of happier ones. But a day is completed when it’s both day and night. Similarly life is completed with both good and bad sides. With both happy and sad times. With both easy and tough times. However, when we are happy to accept both, we will see further happiness coming.
Moreover, whatever we focus upon grows stronger in life. Whatever images we have in our mind, our mind replicates those images. So if we focus on being happy, we will expand that. If we will focus on problems, we will expand that.
If you really want to be happy in life, just accept it wholly and whole heartedly. More you will accept, happier you will be. We cannot improve any thing by sitting and complaining. We can improve, when we take action of what we wnat and for that first step is to start looking at what’s making us happy.
