He was a woodcutter. His son was just five years old. His son was always giving excuses for not doing things. Like I have a pain in my leg, maybe he was hurt by something a few days ago. Once there was a storm and they both had to hide inside, entire night. Their small hut was shaking and the son was scared, what if they would lose its roof. But next day, when they had survived, the woodcutter took him to the jungle and showed him various types of trees. A few were uprooted, a few were old and had many roots growing out of the ground too and a few were growing. So the son asked, why were a few trees uprooted? Why were a few were not uprooted and had become so strong? The father smiled and said that those who strengthened their roots after every storm, have survived and have become very old. They did not spend their energy in blaming the storm. They focused their energy in strengthening their roots. Those trees, who just stood there and waited for someone to come and rescue, or may be blamed the storm, got uprooted by it. Because their roots were weak. The storm was same for everuyone and the stronger ones have faced more storm. But they did not blame the storm, they found their ground to survive.
In the same way, everyone would have own storm to face, if we really want to heal our past and move on, rather than blaming the circumstances, we need to put our efforts in strengthening ourselves and grow, rather than blaming the events or people who caused them. If we blame them, we will never be able to think, how to strengthen ourselves. Life does not open up with excuses, it opens up with the strength. Its like a seed will grow only if it starts fighting the shell and the ground. If it starts looking at the hard shell and the mud around it, the seed will die in mud. We need to outgrow the shell, the mud, the storm and stand tall.
