Few days back one lady came to me and claimed that after 30 years of married life she still not been able to understand her husband. She doesn’t know what her husband really wants and what is he thinking. She said that even after 30 years, she cannot say that she knows her husband and sometimes she feels that she is with a stranger. May sound like an exaggerated statement but it is true. We keep trying and trying and fail to understand people and wonder if we are ever right on what we are thinking. However the truth is we fail to understand ownself and thus we fail to understand others. If you want to understand others, first you need to try to understand yourself. Why we are acting the way we are acting, why we are saying what we are saying, what are we feeling and when we are hurt why are we feeling hurt what made us feel so bad..what is making us happy..everyone is different but we all have same emotions and we all are humans..so whatever is making you feel good or bad would make others also feel good or bad..things which you are appreciating will be appreciated by others too..things which are repelling you in some person will be repelled by others too..things which are attracting you will attract others too…if you want to understand others, just take a step toward yourself, everyone is flowing with same consciousness and everyone is same from inside…if we want to learn the composition of all the leaves on a tree we just have to study one leaf, we do do not have to study all the billion leaves on that tree, we are also the leaves of same tree, if you will understand yourself, you will be able to understand other leaves too. However, if you fail yourself, you would fail the whole life and Universe.
