A gentleman called few days back. He was crying as he said that whenever he thinks of making some charity, something happens and he was unable to make any charity. Either he did not find anyone on the road to share whatever he had, when he sat for online payment, his system conked out or electricity went away or if he really found someone, he did not have anything to give. He tried feeding birds and for many days no bird came to eat the feed. This had really disheartened him.
Whatever was is his intention, like to get rid of bad karma, or someone suggested, but the point was whenever he tried giving something to someone, it got blocked. One day, he was very thirsty, and one child came and asked for water. He had to choose either to drink himself or give it to child, and he gave it and felt that atleast someone has accepted his service. The child smiled and went away. But since then some block was lifted and he was able to serve. He realized few things:
1. If we have same God inside everyone, then the person/creature in front of us is also God. So it is God who is accepting what he is serving. So it is like one supreme has accepted his offering, so should he be grateful or should he be in ego that I am giving. If he would giving with ego, it is like holding ego with Supreme God which would never work. The only thing which is served with love will be accepted. So if he is able to give and it is accepted, that is also a big blessings. So he should be grateful that he was able to give.
2. In this Universe, there are so many who do not have enough. If he is able to give, it means, God has been so kind that he has in abundance and he is able to share.
3. Being able to serve is a privilege and we shall be grateful for that.
4. Serve with no ego, no expectations and no conditions.
5. Serve with whatever you have and where ever you are. We do not have to wait for perfect scenario.
