One mother brought her two years old son to me and said that I want him to be successful. I want to train him for success. I want to train him at the young age, which is a noble thought. Please help him, train him. I thought for a while because the training had to be started at an age where the trainee does not even know how to speak properly. I took them to the play area and we chose a slide. The child was supposed to climb the slide stars and come down sliding. The mother got scared and said that he cannot do this. It is difficult for him. The boy started looking at his mother and was about to turn around. I asked her to leave and watch it from a distance. For few minutes I played with the child and he could observe others doing same. He asked if I could and I said if you want to do it. He started climbing stairs on his own and asked help in stepping from the last one which i gave him. He came down happily and he did another round. After three rounds he did not seek help in last step too. The mother was surprised that how come her child did this? Well, he watched and learned and developed own trick. You want him to be successful but you are discouraging him from his first step. Similarly, when our child wants to take first step towards his own goal, we discourage him. We start instilling things from the beginning. How do we know if he is destined to achieve something which no one has ever done in life? Someone wants to be a singer and has the talent and our condition is complete your studies and get a job. Take singing as your hobby. We want the child to be successful but we do not allow him to take the desired step. What we have to do is encourage him, be there for him and train his mind with patience and hard work to keep moving towards his goal. She understood the point. But then she was crying. She said that I have done this with my husband too. he wanted to start his own business but i asked him to continue doing the job. I was scared of the financial problems we would face. But she had the answer now. She told her husband that he could do whatever he wants to do and she would support him But the only condition is he would keep doing it, until its done. Does not matter how long it takes. He promised and started his business. He started with trademan ship and eventually setting up own factory. he had to struggle but she stood by his side. She sold her jewelry when it was needed.
We can achieve whatever we desire. having the desire means we can achieve it and we deserve it. However, to achieve that we need to start working on it, take the first step and be prepared to take the step again and again. We cannot give up until we reach the end. There are no failures. There are just more trials. And we need to keep trying. We need to encourage ourselves. There is nothing called as unthinkable because if we have thought about it means it can be done.
