I wish we will learn to spend more energy on loving each other rather than following rituals one day.

Festival time is here, which is supposed to bring lots of happiness, change of mood, sweets, gifts, lights, lots of guests and also lots of customs to be followed everyday. I am not against customs. I believe in them. Though, I know the difference between, following them and actually doing them, and how things also work spiritually. Still we retort to divine when we are stuck and we do not find any other way. I do believe in everything. i am not against any religion or any custom. What I feel bad about is when we ignore human beings who are standing live in front of us and we put those rituals above everything else. On karwa Chauth, my maid came crying as her husband was furious over her, as she was doing her Puja and she could not pick his call. So he kicked her and left home, not to return. She was crying and I asked her that iou have called him back. Her reply was, why should I call. He has to come back. He spoiled my Puja. I was shocked that this is how they both have acted. After counselling her for few days, finally I was able to convince her to call him up before Diwali and he came back also, saying he was waiting for her call. Human Egos!

Then, I had gone to meet someone, there it became difficult for me to sit for some more time as constantly that lady was shouting at her servants for setting things correctly for Puja.

Then, what I saw in temple, really made me cry. They were kicking out small kids as many big people had to come to temple. never knew, if place of God also knows such discrimination.

WE are born with love and to love. These festivals are designed to remind us of that in one or other form. That’s why most of the festival has those customary charity attached that on this day, if you make a charity, it will bring big rewards. Which shows us the way, that without helping each other, there is no other way to reach to divine also.

I hope we learn to love each other. I hope we learn to stop expecting perfection. I hope we learn to see emotions rather than clothes. I hope we learn to be happy rather than angry. May this Diwali lightens our hearts. may this Diwali brings in happiness in every home. May this Diwali resolves all the conflicts of our hearts.
