I am busy holding love not the grudges.

A house wife who had lived with her in laws for 10 years was very depressed. She had lived in a very difficult environment where she faced constant criticism and non acceptance. She did a lot but with constant criticism one day she reached to a state of silence. Her husband’s friend explained this to him and he decided to shift out. Though they shifted out but her silence could not be ended. Sometimes, she would simply cry for no reason. To everyone it appeared it was for no reason but crying is never for no reason. She was stuck in her last 10 years.
One day when she just could not tolerate all the pain which she was holding inside which included lots of suppressed anger too, she asked her husband, I do not know what to do. I just can’t help myself. He knew he had not been fair to her in his family situation. After that they seeked professional help. I gave her a ball and she wondered why. Then I gave her another ball which she was unable to as her hands were full. She asked the permission to hold the next one. So the point was that she could hold only one. Similarly, in our mind we can hold only one ball, either of grudges and bad experiences or of love. It is upto us to decided which one we really want to hold. She started rebuilding her mind with positive experiences which were happening at that time. She realized that she was missing out on her children while they were growing up fast. With lots of efforts from her side she recovered. 
She could recover only when she started holding onto love rather than bad experiences. Staying happy, staying loving is not a rocket science. The only thing is we need to take a conscious decision that we want to hold onto good things. These good things are the love of our friends and family members. These good things are small moments of love which we have everyday. These good things are the smiles from nature and birds or a small butterfly flying in the window.
