There was a girl crying badly that God has stopped listening to her. She grew up without father and her mother had tough time bringing her up. As her mother was so stressed always, she used to beat her and not care for her much. When she was grown up she got married to a guy who lost all his money in family feud and that made him alcoholic.
I asked her instead of cursing God, if you have ever prayed? If you have genuinely asked him to guide you, help you. She was shocked. She sat silent for a while and said no. She again started crying that I always saw my mother cursing everyone and everything and this is what she also picked up. So first of all she had to learn to stop complaining. Complaining comes from ego, which was giving her entitlement. That I deserved this and I did not get this and that’s why I have a right to complain. I am no one to comment upon who deserves what. We all would get and have what we deserve. That’s God’s plan and I am no one to interfere. But one thing I know there would no injustice.
So she asked what do you mean by prayer? And the answer is go into your heart, express your genuine love and concern and ask him to guide you. Though every prayer is answered, but you may feel it is taking time as for a long time you have been seeing everything from a different perspective of complaining. So it may take few days for your emotions to settle. So the next question was, how should I pray? How should I sit? What should be my words? And her innocence made me smile because this is how we have been trained.
God does not need any posture. He does not need a place for us to connect with him. He does not need any words. All he needs is our genuine feeling which can happen anywhere, anytime. HE is watching over us all the time and everywhere. He is listening to every word spoken from heart. Otherwise there is no other way to reach to him. She got up and next day she came back and said that she has decided to take up a job. She would work and earn. She did get a job in few days and eventually she grew up from that.
