Generally, I talk about people who have come with problems. But sometimes, a ray of sunshine appears and which guides everyone. A friend came over and she shared about her married life.
A few months back, or almost a year back, she started developing health issues. She is turning 40 and I guess lots of women go through such issues. She developed some problems in ovaries, then she worked on it, got it treated, then a little bit of liver, then she started developing headaches and it was ongoing. She had been married for 18 years and for 18 years, she had been working continuously. In thick and think, she had supported her family. In every way. In all those 18 years, she had felt her husband’s love and support every day or maybe many times. When needed he changed diapers, he helped her in walking when she could not and now, he asked her to leave her job and focus only on health. Their family was dependent on double income and they lived a good lifestyle. But now, he asked her to leave the job and she was scared. He told her, he would manage and he knows how to manage. She left the job to focus upon her health and he started a new business along. He worked double shift to meet all the family needs. She wondered what all good she must have done to have such a blessing in her life.
Listening to her made me smile and I could see the gratitude in her eyes and in her voice.
Yes, having a supportive partner is a big blessing. Can we all be one? Where we support our partners when needed we help them grow, we help them rest, we help them in handling all the issues. It’s unconditionally. Truly, considering them as a part of life and self. When someone is really better half, there is no ego. We just do everything, whatever is required.
Be a blessing and you will have many more.
