One 23 years old boy said I have seen God and it raised everyone’s eyes. He smiled and said that God is in me and I am in God. His mother was puzzled. What we see on television, or we hear from some big sage we hear it and let it be there. But if we hear that from our own children, we are unable to fathom that. He reminded his mother that on television, haven’t you seen that Lord is holding everything inside him. Be it past present or future, be it dead or alive, be in new births, be it this whole Universe. The mother agreed. Then don’t you tell me from the beginning that see God in everyone and everything. Then why can’t I see God in myself too. Someone else has to see God in me as per that philosophy, so even I have to see God in me too. Without seeing God in me, how can I see him in someone else too. His mother could not counter his arguments but she was more puzzled then ever. She knew this is what she had heard always but to hear it like this, she never expected.
What is enlightenment? What is the purpose of taking birth? What this journey is about?
Everything comes down to the point which this 23 years old boy had mentioned. The purpose of taking this birth and many births is enlightenment. What is enlightenment? To know who we are. To know who we are is to know who God is. Because there is no difference. So it is to dissolve the difference. To dissolve the duality.
So what is a step for that?
First to know and then to realize and then to live with that. Knowing comes from various ways. It comes from external. It comes from books, parents, TV, society or anything. Realization comes from with in. Then what are the stages of realization. First to see God in everything and then to see yourself in everything. No one can guide you. Everyone can guide for knowing but not for realizing. It’s like you can learn swimming only when you jump into the water not by reading a book or from your coach’s instructions. But yes those things may act as guiding steps.
So when we know, are we ready to travel the journey within?
Make an effort to see that? Ask yourself how can I experience this and you would see the answer coming from within. After all, where is the difference?
