Question: How much shall we give? Whatever you can with love.
Why shall we give? How do we feel if we have to ask for something? How do we feel if we have given something? WE feel better if we have given. We feel bad if we had to ask for something. It hurts our ego, it hurts our pride. But still, we shall give for a simple reason. we all are one. We all have one God inside us. In fact, there is no duality. There is no difference between me and God, so practically there is no difference between me and anyone else. Helping anyone else in elevating from pain means helping own self. It elevates us from own pain. When we see someone in pain, something starts happening to us. We start feeling compelled to do something. We may choose to ignore but in reality that is the thread which is connecting all of us.
How do we decide who needs it? The story keeps coming back. Arjun asks Krishna why Karan is more famous for his charity? Arjun creates a mountain of Gold and asks Arjuna to distribute that by the end of the day. Arjuna starts giving and keeps giving that till the end of the day but mountain looked just the way it was started in the morning. Arjuna was exhausted. Next day another mountain is created and Krishna asks Karana to do that. HE steps aside and says to everyone that please collect as much as you like. The mountain finishes in no time. Krishna explains that You have an ego that you are giving it but Karan does not. He simply believes that the other person shall receive, who is giving does not matter. He gives with surrender. Now, who receives it, depends on me. Let me find out. You can simply give with love. You can surrender and give. If you start judging, you will never be able to continue giving. How can you decide that you deserved what all you have? How can you decide that you deserve to give also? You shall feel blessed that you have so much you are able to give.
So we shall simply give? Yes, giving also is a blessing. You have everything and you can share everything. What can be a bigger blessing? You do not have to ask anyone else to meet your needs.
What about my good karma? Then why don’t you continue doing that? Simply continue doing and let God handle Karma too. Just surrender. that’s what makes you one.
Give with love. Give with surrender.
