Sometimes, things happen when God wants you to be better. I had a dream where I saw the story which we all have heard many times. After Mahabharta, Bheem got an ego that he was the strongest man in the world. Now, because you are God’s favourite, so God does not want you to fall into that ego pit. So God tries to bring you out immediately. So Bheem had his own encounter. He was walking in a park and he saw a huge monkey blocking the way with his tail. Bheem requested him to move his tail so that Bheem could get his way. But the money said that he was old and could not, so Bheem should do it himself. Now, Bheem tried all and could not! Then he realized that it must be someone else not an ordinary money. Bheem folded his hands and requested forgiveness and asked who was he. The monkey turned into Lord Hanuman and blessed Bheem with love. Bheem realized how he had started developing his ego and how God helped him in getting over that.
So when this story comes to me, it is always a reminder of gratitude. Whatever we are, whatever we are receiving, whatever we are able to give, whatever we are able to offer to God also, it is because of his presence and desire. It is because of his grace. To think that we are doing something, even if it is giving money for food to someone from own pocket, it has been made possible because he wanted us to do that. It happened because we could hold an intention and he made it possible. He made everything possible. Do not get the ego that you helped someone in need. God helped you in helping that person. Do not get an ego that you have been going to temple everyday. Know that, you are able to go because he supported you in that.
When someone tries to help, receive that with gratitude. He is bringing that to you. To say that I do not take anything from anyone also is an ego. So receive with gratitude, live with gratitude and life with his grace and love.
