Again I saw today where a girl is prepared to be presented to a suitor! The girl is running around all day so that she can look her best on the special day, where everyone would examine her forgetting the fact that she is a human being who has right to have own free will, desires and has dreams too. They look at a specimen, tick their check list and do not consider the fact that a human is bound to have flaws. They look at many things like how she will look, how much would her family spend, the way she walks and talks, she should be perfect in her culinary skills and she should make a good addition to family photo album.
Why cannot they look at the fact that what kind of human she is? Whether she and their auctioned item…SON..are compatible…if they can live with each other…happily..
If someone chooses someone on his/her own they call it a person low on values and character. But one question I want to ask if you are a control freak then its your problem and if your children did not allow you to be one, why are you tagging them as low on values and character? Since when taking own decisions is less on character?
I think Indian marriage system needs a revoltion where a girl wont be treated as a show piece and she will get her rights of being a human!
