Freedom

What would you do, when someone locks you inside a room? You would try to get out? You will try to find a way out. If you do not see any other opening which can lead to the free world, you will try to scream, so that if someone could hear could come to your rescue. You try your best to get out. Why did you do that? Because you are brave enough to fight. If someone does not fight for own freedom, then he/she does not feel brave as they are unable to gather the courage to fight back. Even a small kid, when sometimes locked by parents as a punishment (I am just considering it as a point, however, I do not support this punishment.) also tries his best to come out of that. He would cry hard so that he can be unlocked. If a child has the courage everyone else has too. However, when we grow this courage washes away. We are brought up to live under restrictions. These restrictions bring repression and repression brings crime. Society made law and order to fight crime, still they are unable to control it, so law people made jails. However, in jail, they are still unable to cure criminals. What is the use of a punishment if it cannot have the desired effect. The very purpose of designing the punishment is lost. I was watching one old movie Kaalia, where the hero is imprisoned for some innocent crime and in the jail he meets another jail mates who are experienced in crime and they become his professor. They make him a professional criminal. So these jails are actually the education centres of crime. I do not want to debate about law and order here, however, my main point is repression.
There are so many restrictions imposed by society, that no one knows what is freedom. If someone expresses free opinion, he/she suffers by society. The famous writer Taslima Nasrin, who is a Bangladeshi author and has been asked to leave India. Her work has already bene awarded, however, few cannot accept her free thoughts, so they campaign against her. Any country will be ready to welcome her, still she wants to be in India and she has been asked to leave India. Why because she dared to be free. Another example is famous painter MF Hussain, he also had to run into exile because people could not tolerate his free ideas in the forms of paintings. His paintings are internationally acclaimed and he is one of the most famous painters alive. He has taken Qatar Citizen ship now so that atleast he can live peacefully. So many people sued him that it became impossible for him to express and live here freely.
People are so use to of living under restrictions that they cannot see if someone is free. They do not see the invisible walls created around them by society. If someone is brave enough to be free, the people get scared as they feel that others might also would like to be free and they try to bind those people and try to bring them under law and order. However, law and order is required if there is repression. If it becomes a free country, where people are aloowed to express and live the way they want, there would not be any law and order required. Crime evolves from repression. MF Hussain has not done any crime, then why was he summoned by the court? Because he dare to be brave enough to express his toughts.
You need to be brave enough to express what you feel, to do what you want to do, so that, you can become your realself. Under all these restrictions, you have become someone else. If you want to know what your real self was, just try to remember, how were you as a child? Didn’t you dare to do the most unfathomable tasks? As a child you could walk on the walls and now you cannot, you are scared why? When you grow up, you should be able to do more daring tasks as you build your strength. However, when you grow, you may grow with physical strength but you lose your inner strength. You lose your bravery. You get conscious that if you walk on a wall, you may fall and get hurt. So what? You can fall while walking on the road too and get hurt. Then? You would stop walking on the road? You need to gather same bravery what you had as a child. So that you can break free from the boundaries imposed around you. So that you can come out of invisible walls built by the society. So that you can become a free person.
