This is one of the oldest stories we are being told since childhood. We learn this story along with our nursery rhymes. There was a thirsty crow and he saw a jug with very little water. He put pebbles into it and drank the water when the level rose. Moral of the story was taught as where there is a will there is a way. I am definitely not disputing the moral. However, what was not taught explicitly was that you need to put the hard work to find your way. You have to pave your path to make your own way. The story is taught as if you have the will you will find the way. Moreover, this story should be taught in all the classes and in all the offices too to the people of every age group. Why so?
With the passing time, people forget that when they decide for something, which gives them the will, they have to channelise all their energies into one direction to reach there all your mental and physical energies. Mental energy is equally important as it will drive you physically and will let you stay put when you are picking up your pebbles. What do pebbles signify in this small but significant story? They are the stones or blocks or the problems which you will face when you are headed on the way and you need to clear the way for yourself. It does not matter how many have treaded on that path before, you will have to still pick up your share. You need your both physical and mental energy so that you can keep picking up your pebbles until you have satiated your thirst. If you give up even before you pick up last pebble, you will stay thirsty and not have enough to your heart’s contents.
So when you decide for something, be ready to pick up the pebbles.
