So here starts my new level of learning. My girls are growing up and they are asking to listen to stories. Sometimes they ask to repeat and sometimes on the fly I have to create a new one and narrate. I guess lots of parents and grandparents go through this. It’s fun and I am loving it. So I discuss this story which landed yesterday in my mind. There was a mango tree (Mango is one of their favourite fruits). It had lots of mangoes. There were all sizes. Some big and some small. There was one mango which was very big in size and so was his inflated ego. If anyone would come for that mango, it would shout that I am so big, only a king deserves to eat me. So it kept hanging there waiting to make it big in the world to fulfil its destiny. Finally, after some time, the king heard about it and sent his man to get the mango. The mango did not come thinking it’s an ordinary man coming for it. So finally king came thinking it must be some very special mango. So the king took the mango with him and mango was full of pride that king was going to eat him. When that mango was cut. it was all rotten from inside. Because it kept hanging there for too long. It was rotten with pride and vanity. The king ate all other small fruits very happily.
Pride and vanity will rot us from inside and we will not even realize it. Because from outside it would look perfect. There is no pride in not serving the purpose. Whatever we are getting, we shall serve that right now. We cannot define what we shall do or not. Whatever is there right now, we shall be doing that. We sweep at our home saying this is my home. But isn’t this Universe our home too? So do everything. It’s not about what anyone else would think. It is about, what you would think. So do everything with love and pride. Whatever is there in your hand at that time is your purpose. Every great king has served it in jungles. No one has become big in one day. A tree becomes a tree from a seed.
Always serve your purpose and serve it with love.
