Few days back, my friend called up. She was crying badly. I asked her the reason for same. She shared that, her sister in law was troubling her a lot. She used to manipulate whole family against her. She would steal things, blame her on same etc. So in the beginning she would cry a lot but then she started doing same thing. So why are are crying now, was my next question. She said that, when she kept doing that for years, she realized, she forgot who she was. She had become like her. She forgot her own goodness. There was no other way to handle that guilt of doing bad and being bad other than embracing your own light. So she started correcting her ways and took few decisions. No matter what, she would speak truth, she would not repeat such behavior, she would not become a part of all this and she would help as much as she could. She had to go through lots of situations where her old lies came out but she stood by her commitment and things started solving eventually. She walked through fire in next one year but after that, her husband shifted out and things changed totally. We can say, last one year was a part of purification process. She saw both good and bad and chose good. After that, she was able to help others too on same.
It reminds me of a small tribe in South Africa. When someone commits a crime there, they never punish a person. They just start taking rounds around him and start speaking his own good deeds. In sometime, which may take even 2-3 days, the person breaks down and his real transformation starts. But that happens, when he is able to see own light. After that no darkness can put a spell on him.
We all have that light within. Our own pure good part. Divine part. We have both good and bad. Like a complete day has both day and night. It is our decision to choose good over bad or bad over good. Does not matter, how bad the other person is around us. Do we want to be engulfed in others darkness or do we want to embrace own light? This is what we have to decide.
