Yesterday I went to Bahai Sadan in Delhi to buy some books. I am
researching on spiritual education for children by different religions. Many
people have not heard of Bahai Faith or religion. However, almost everyone in
India has heard about Lotus Temple and Lotus Temple is the center of Bahai
Faith. I entered there and asked the receptionist where I can see books to buy.
His first question was, “Are you a Bahai?” I asked him, do I need to
be a Bahai to buy books and he was looking at my face. He said, no, anyone can
buy books. They are for general purpose. Immediately he showed me the doorway
to the book store. When i was walking that hallway, I had one question running
in my mind that can I be a human first? Why do I have to follow any religion?
Why do I have to follow any cast? What am I born as? If I am born as a human
then why I cant just be a human? Why do I have live in the boundaries?

I have never heard of a Marwari lion and a Muslim Giraffe! All the
animals are of what they are born as. I have also never heard of a Hindu rose
and a Christian Mango tree. They all are what they all are and as created by
nature. They are also created by nature as we are created. Humans were given
extra intelligence so that they can learn and evolve. However, we are using
this intelligence for anything but for learning. Anything learned is of no use,
if its not implemented and I feel sorry when I see, most of our learnings are
limited to knowledge. It does not reach to implementation stage. I met a
person, who has read more than 1000 books and has a very big library. i asked
why has he read so many books and he said that it has given him so much
knowledge and he can talk to people about same also now. I asked how much has
he implemented, he did not have answer. If we have read one book and we are
able to implement that, then we will not need to read so many books. I feel if
someone has read Bhagwad Gita, and implemented that, it will gide him on every
path of life. Our innerself will start opening up its gateway and we will be
able to learn everything from ownself. We do not need to read 1000 books
to increase our knowledge because we all are already wise enough because we all
are brilliant sparks of God. However, we need to explore that divinity inside
us, so that we are able to see same divinity inside everyone else too. But
before that, we will just keep living in a quest, without realising what we are
searching for. Reading a book is not a bad thing, but if it’s for the sake of
knowledge, it would just feed ego that I know so much, it would not help you
anywhere, if you have not implemented.

Choice is ours. We are born limitless but we limit ourselves by becoming
something lesser than what we are. When you say, you are a part of this
community, you are limiting to a small group rather than the bigger group you
are born with. It’s up to us, what we want to decide for ourselves.
