Normally, we depend on others as we do not have courage to accept own responsibility. Responsibility of taking own decision, responsibility of standing by own decisions and responsibility of carrying the burden of right or wrong. It is very easy to seek others advice and later on blame them if things do not fall favorably. I have seen so many times, people blaming on friends or parents saying oh, I did this because you had asked me. Now, time to take a break and think, who actually did it, who was not sure of own decision? You decided to take others advice and follow it, so you are to be blamed if things do not fall the way you had wished. You need to be courageous enough to be in charge of your independence.
Being independent does not mean you become callous. Being independent brings lots of responsibility. When you depend on others, you always try to show your good side to them however, when you are on your own, normally I have seen people get arrogant and haughty. They stop respecting people around them as they feel they are the next kin to almighty and are omnipotent. Absolutely wrong, whatever you are doing is for yourself and you have no right to disrespect others because you are independent and you do not need them. Need can never be just financial need, we all are social beings and we all live in a society. Even if you are a millionaire, you cannot manage your whole life on your own. You need help of so many people to manage and run your life smoothly. You need a person to give you ticket when you want to watch a movie, you need someone to run the show for you, you need someone to serve you, if you are ill, you need a Doctor to cure you. For every small thing you need people to make your life smooth and running.
So being independent does not mean that you start misbehaving with others and you stop respecting them, being independent means, you are responsible for your life and the decisions you make. You become independent for yourself not for anyone else.
Independence is a responsibility where you are responsible for your life, to handle this responsibility you need the courage to live the life. Once you have the courage you are into the state of absolute freedom and to handle this freedom, you need to live with the supreme responsibility of oneself.
