A lady called up. She was crying badly. I asked for the reason and she said that she had become very bad. She never knew she could be that bad. She keeps shouting at her servants everyday for every small thing. I asked her family history and she shared that she came from a financially affluent family and she always felt that the best way to get things done is by controlling them and keeping them on toes. If you will treat them with love, they will sit on your head. I asked her, this is what if you have learned, then why are you feeling bad? She said that she was not peaceful. So what will make her peaceful? She did not know. I asked her to ask her servants, what all they need at home and the problems they are facing. She went and asked. She realized they all were suffering. They did not have enough clothes to wear and blankets to sleep in the chilling winter. She was further feeling sad. She felt that when she has even head ache she expects everyone to be compassionate towards her and to ignore if she did not fulfil her duties. Here they were constantly suffering and she was shouting at them further. Now, what to do? So she went to the market, she bought some food and blankets and gave to them. They all were extra happy and grateful. they all were giving her millions of blessings. That day, she slept very peacefully and with lots of smiles. Smiles she gave to others were in her heart forever. She felt that, this was her best gift this season.
We all can give that gift to people around. We feel, they need a lot but how much we can fulfil. But try to give a blanket to someone who is shivering in this cold weather. It will be a bigger satisfaction than buying 100s of clothes. I am not saying don’t spend on yourself. Do that and proudly do that. Just that share your abundance with the people around you too. They need you. In return you will get the gift of smiles and blessings which will stay in your heart forever. It will make you smile whenever you will think of that moment always. Give a gift of smiles to yourself and others.
