He was sitting next to me and complaining about how his brother has such a beautiful life and he does not. How his wife supports him, how his brother’s business is flourishing and how his children have turned out to be good. He said that it seems like he has everything and I have nothing. Including health.
So my next question was, I agree he has everything and you have nothing. Do you think it’s all destiny? What have you done for it? Have you just been sitting and complaining and feeling bad about your side of destiny or have you done something about it?
So he went to his brother to ask for the guidance to know what all his brother had done to have everything.
His brother shared few things:?
He worked for everything. Nothing came into his lap. Even for the relationship, he kept all the patience, when people called him henpecked, etc. He kept supporting his wife and did all the house chores also when it was needed. He kept children with him when she wanted to have a break. All his friends made fun of him but he got an opportunity to bond with his children. He could teach them what they wanted. For business, he worked hard, he knew he had to so that he could create something big for his family. For health also. he ate healthily, never touched alcohol, helped people, stayed honest so that he could have mental peace, always went for a morning walk.
He was surprised when his brother told him. He wondered was it a secret? NO! There is no secret. Life is what you give to it. He worked hard to have everything and he got it.
Now, the next question was, if you have two servants, one is polite, humble, working hard so that you can give him a raise and always comes on time, one is taking alcohol on the job, misbehaving with fellow members, what would you do. His reply was simple. I would keep the first one or maybe even fire the second one. Forget about the raise. So you got the point.
You misbehaved with your fellow members like your wife, you always had alcohol, you took business for granted as it came in legacy and you did not bother about health. You got fired!
If you want everything, work for everything. No one is denying you the right. But you gotta work for it!
