One day, a girl called up. She was crying. She said that I am broken very badly. She shared that she got my number from one of her friends which she did not want to disclose. I asked her what happened? and she said that her husband has said that she is of no use. It made me wonder is it one time and she has no tolerance or is it every day? I asked her the same question. She was sobbing and when she was able to manage her emotions a little bit she said that she had been married for 15 years. Before that, they dated for 3 years. It has been 18 years. Every day she has heard how better her roti could be, how she was an imperfect homemaker, how her kids could do better and so on. Also, how she did not dress well, how she had no personality, how she was not doing the right things.
Tough one! It will definitely break someone’s confidence. She did not cry on one statement that day. She was crying over the pain which had accumulated over 18 years.
I asked her, this is what her husband has been telling herself but what does she think about herself. She cried again and said that as per her, she also could not do anything right. Why was she alive, she wondered that.
I asked her, how was she before meeting her husband she gave a very bright picture. She was happy and smiling and she felt that she could win the world. It did not matter to her what others were thinking of her. And she had to bring back her original self.
She woke up and looked into the mirror and told herself, she was perfect. She was good and she could do anything. Daily discussion and affirmations and adoring herself daily worked like a miracle. After two months, she felt very strong and what she wondered was that her husband could no longer criticize her. If he did, she told him politely, how things were perfect and how he shall not do this to her.
Wake up and tell yourself, I am perfect as I am.
I can do anything I want.
I am happy, kind, loving.

I am beautiful.
I love you.
