Question: Why shall I help people? Isn’t it their Karma that they are suffering?
It might be, but who are we to judge.
I will share two things here.
First is the story of a gentleman who shared it long back during one of my workshops. Once a Bitch died in an accident outside his house who had just delivered small puppies. He felt the pain of orphaned puppies and brought them. Together with his wife, he took care of them, till the time they did not get independent. After some time, he met an accident and became unconscious. Those were not the days of mobiles. A tribe took care of him for a few months when he was unconscious. He gained his senses after a few months and then came to family. from inside he felt that became he took care of the puppies, he was taken care of too. So when he helped puppies, he was helped. When we help someone, we never know, in how many ways, we have helped ourselves.
So is it his/her karma to suffer who are we to decide? Maybe it’s an opportunity to improve ours?
Now, the next question I have is for you. What would you do if you cut your finger by mistake? I would nurse it. Apply some bandage on it. But isn’t it your finger’s Karma as you cut it yourself?
Same way, we all are a part of one Universal body. We all are attached. Even if it is own karma, we help each other in elevating from that pain. Otherwise, we do not realize, how much pain this whole body is into. We help each other to heal that Universal pain of the body which we are a part of.
It’s a blessing when we get a chance to serve. When we serve someone, we serve God. He is giving us a chance to serve him.
