Met two gentlemen. One was very happy and one was very frustrated.
So they both discussed their stories. One really loved his wife and respected her throughout his life. Now when he was retired and he needed support, she was always around, taking care of him and she was his true companion. He felt whatever he had given to her always came to her many folds and now, it was coming in all the forms. He was receiving much more than he gave.
Another gentleman, who was frustrated shared that he did a mistake in his life. He tried his wife very badly. He always kept her on her toes. For anything he would make sure she apologised. He always believed that he should keep his control or else she would go wild. But what was happening in old age, when he was old and had no strength and power had shifted into her hands, she does the same to him. He felt revenge but deep down he also knew she is giving what she received all her life. He did not have any friend in her, if he tried talking she just shoved him off. She gave him food and tea but whenever she came to him, she always expressed her displeasure!
Same way met two ladies. They also had similar stories. One who kept the power and did not treat her husband well, in old age, missed the beauty of old age. Her husband did not talk to her properly and spent more time outdoors. In his absence, their children also did not talk to her properly as they had seen the same thing all their life. Somehow she was not very sweet with her children too.
The lady who treated her partner with love and respect received same in old age in return. Not to mention even kids gave her lot of love and care.
First thing, whether we live till old age or not, we shall always love and respect our partner. But at-least for own sake , so that we can have a better life when we grow old, we must love and respect our partner.
