Met two different ladies on different occasions. One was sitting and crying. Her husband called up asking if I could do anything to help. I asked her, why was she crying. She had overheard her servants how bad she was as a person. She shared that she had helped them so much, gave them so much, still this is how they talk about her. Then she said that now I do not even shout at them! First thing, we all have no right to shout at anyone. Let’s say even servants could have equal right to shout! So why can’t we help things with love? Anyway, so I asked her, what was her thought process about them and it was quite negative. They are always bad, trying to extract more money, want to do less work etc. So in your thoughts, you are always kind of thinking all these things? She accepted! What if you are wrong? What if they are not like what you are thinking? And what wrong they are doing by thinking negative of you. We get what we give. This is what you are really giving! She practiced being kind in her thoughts, which took quite some effort and it worked. She heard people talking good about her!
One lady was sitting very peacefully and with a smile. I asked her and she simply shared one thing that it is a blessing to be kind. I am grateful that God made me a kind person. When we act out of kindness, we feel so peaceful and grateful. We feel so happy and it is a blessing. We see others smile and it is not ego, we know it somewhere we have contributed that smile, it becomes a blessing. That smile which we bring has the power to lit up everything in life. Her domestic help brought tea and it looked a little messy but she smiled and said thank you and then said, did you trip? Can you please clean?
She was kind in her words, full of gratitude and she was thinking with kindness. Which brought real kindness in her deeds.
If you really want to be happy and peaceful, if you want to be proud of yourself, be kind in your thoughts, in your deeds and in your words. You will always be happy!
