Your bad intentions will hurt you first. Always hold the best intentions for everyone.

It’s holi and it’s a big festival in India. So the story of Holi has a great learning which I can see now. In old times there was a king by the name Hiryanakashyap. He used to oppose God and trouble people. His little son Prahalad was a great worshipper of God. The king did not like that and tried many things to stop his son. HE reached to a point that he could no longer tolerate his own son. So he decided to kill him. HE tried many things but nothing worked. So he sought his sister’s help. She had pleased Fire God (Agni dev) and in return she got a blanket. The boon was if she would wear that blanket, she would never get burned. So she asked her brother that she could sit on a pyre of fire with Prahalad. She would wear her boon blanket. She would be spared but the little boy would die. So the duo schemed to kill the little boy. They both sat on a huge pyre and fire was set to it. No one could see anything until the fire died. But It was Prahalad who came back alive with the blanket on him. The story says that the wind brought the blanket on Prahalad thus protecting him and Holika was burned.

It’s a famous story in India. But what I learned from it was the game of intentions again. Holika sat on the pyre to burn herself and got burned herself. Whether we call it a game of intentions or game of karma. We can learn one big lesson here. If we even think of harming someone else, the biggest harm comes on us. What we do for others is coming for us first. Now, good or bad is our judgment. What we do for others is coming for us. So if we do good, it’s coming for us. If we do bad, it’s coming for us. Karma does not wait for years to come back. It actually knocks very fast.

So hold your best intentions for everyone. Always desire best for everyone. Always pray for best for everyone. Always do best for others.
