Everyone told him that no matter what he did, no one would ever love him. Why because at that time he was poor. Everyone was wearing good clothes, eating in better plates and going to a better school. He kept everything to himself and kept making an effort to gather people’s acceptance. So he decided to work hard and earn a lot of money thinking that money shall be able to buy some love for him because everyone stayed away from him as he was poor. He earned a lot and at the age of 45, he was doing financially better than everyone in his circle. But he still felt he was not loved. He kept taking it out on his family too. So finally he decided to have some help.
I asked him, how would you feel that they love you? He did not have an answer. I asked him to share anyone as per him who has loved him. He said that it was his mother. So how did she love you and how you were sure that she loved you. So she took care of him, looked at him with love. fair enough! So what does your wife do? He thought for sometime and started crying. He said that the first time he realized that she always loved him but he kept pushing her away.
But now, the big question was why did he feel that way? Because he always kept telling himself that no one could ever love him. So what did he have to tell himself? He had to reverse that!
I love, I am loved and I give love.
More and more he started telling this, like a mantra all day in mind, more and more he felt closer to lofe and happiness. Not to mention, his health improved, his relationship with wife improved. More importantly, his relationship with himself improved. He did not have to do anything any longer to prove himself worthy of any one’s love. He did thing happily with more joy!
Always love yourself no matter what. You can give what you have. If you will have the love for yourself, you will be able to give to others too. A happy you will create a happy life. Do not demean yourself on the basis of what others are saying. Just love!
