He was a rickshaw puller. He was merely earning Rs 300 everyday. In that he had to pay many bills. I ended up chit chatting and I asked, how do you manage. He smiled and said we can manage in whatever we have. But then I saw, a child crying on the road. He stopped by and asked why was the child crying. The child said he was hungry. He went and bought a packet of biscuit for him and a cup of tea. It look like it did not cost anything but when you are earning just 9000 a month, every penny counts. After that I saw him sharing his food with someone. I asked him again that how he manages that? He again smiled and said that whatever he can, he shares. HE would not wait to earn few lakhs per month to help someone. When he would have lakhs, he then also would share but how would he share with this child at that time when he was hungry now? I did not have answer but my heart was filled up with respect for him.
It’s not about how much we earn or how big is our bank balance. It is about how big is our heart. It is about what is our intention. It is about where we stand in life.
If you get an opportunity to share something with someone, share it with an open heart, share it with love, share it with gratitude. Why with gratitude, because divine is giving you an opportunity to help someone. Divine is giving you an opportunity to be with someone. Everyone has divine presence. When you see that divine in someone, you are able to help. Give without judgement. See yourself when you get an opportunity to give. See that you have so much that you are able to share. Share it with love and grace.
