She got divorced and it had been 18 years. She was crying and she expected everyone else to cry. She developed cervical and she had lost all the family and friends. Everytime someone tried being with her, she acted badly and blamed them for moving on in their lives. They did not know how they are moving on as this had not happened in their past. She was blaming them for being happy and because they were happy in their lives, she was blaming them for not being a good friend. So her friends left gradually.
She might be one rare case but often for lots of small things we get stuck in past. i remember once a guy was hating his father so much, because when he was incurring losses in business his father did not give him some loan or did not arrange from the market also. I asked him about rest of the 40 years of support and he said so what? And why he was blaming his father? Did he incur the losses because of his father? His father infact had guided him not to start that business. So he shall be responsible for own deeds.
There would so many stories about this where we keep repeating past in our mind, we keep conversing again and again in mind, we try to give different shapes to it, we try to change that in our mind, we try to have a better past in our mind. But the reality is, we just need to accept it that it has happened and nothing can change it. Things could have been worse, so whatever had happened, happened in the best way. It could not not have been different. We can never change past. We can only learn from it.
Moreover, by repeating bad things in mind which are hurting us more, we are creating bad things again in life. So what can change our life? Focusing on present and future. How would you like to have your future? Think of that and have a better future. Human mind thinks in images. It does not differentiate in past present or future. Whatever images you are repeating in your mind, it tends to recreate them. So if you are creating images of bad frequency, you will end up creating images of similar frquency in present and future too. So start creating better images in your mind to create a better life. Which means focus on the better side of life.
