A grateful heart is always happy.

Someone who was in depression asked how could he be happy? I was sitting with him, trying to understand him and see how he could be happy. He was complaining about his life which is understandable and that is why he was in depression. So he started complaining about every thing. When he had money, when he had no money, when things were bad, when things were good, when he was in a five star how service was bad, when he was shopping, when he was swimming, when he had to spend time with his kids, when he could not spend time with his kids. After listening to him for sometime and when he was waiting for me to speak anything, I told him that I understand life is tough. But tell me one time, when you were actually happy! Some time atleast? At least from childhood. He could not recall. He had a good child hood, supportive parents, rich family, good schooling, good college, and still he never had a good time. So it was very clear, it was not because he lacked something. It was because of his attitude of complaining, that he was into this state. It is like Universe was trying and testing different situation in his life to see, what would make him happy and there was none. For everything there was something missing which took away his happiness.

And life is like this. There will be one part, where you will feel something else is required. But we need to see what’s there, accept it and be happy. Life is about finding what;’s there. It is not about what’s not there. Then it is about creating from what’s there. But if we keep looking at what’s not there, we will not be able to create also. If you really want to be happy and create some more happiness, see what’s there and be grateful for that. be happy that you have even if you feel you do not have anything. He came out of depression, because he started focusing on what he had.

Be happy, be grateful, write what all is there.
